Karla Mercado-Shekhar, Ph.D.

Karla Mercado-Shekhar, Ph.D. is a faculty member in Biological Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar. She is the coordinator of the Certification in Scientific Writing and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Writing Studio at IIT Gandhinagar. She leads the Medical Ultrasound Engineering (MUSE) Lab, which focuses on developing and translating innovative ultrasound-based techniques to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases. Click here for more information.

Maria João Amante, Ph.D.

Maria João Amante, Ph.D. is the Director of Portuguese Parliament Library (Portugal) since July 2022. From Sepetember 2020 to July 2022 she served as Director of Braga Public Library (Portugal). From 2004 to 2019 she served as Library Director at ISCTE- Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (Portugal). Since 2017, Maria regularly visits IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN) as a Scholar-in-Residence and is the program advisor of the Certification in Scientific Writing. She is also collaborating with the IITGN Writing Studio and IITGN Library. She is a member of several professional associations and author of several articles and book chapters on topics such as information literacy, research information management, citizen science, open access, faculty/librarian relationships, competences development, and scientific writing. She has also participated in several scientific committees.

Deepshikha Ghosh

Ms. Deepshikha Ghosh is pursuing her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar.  

Jagruti M. Patil

Ms. Jagruti Patil is pursuing her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar.
